It was my first time to explore Boracay, the most famous paradise in Philippines. I am so intrigued why people are very eager to go in this island though it is quite far if you came from Mindanao. It took us 1 boat ride and 3 plane rides just to get there.
But I must admit, it was once a dream paradise for me. I reserved this place for an ideal romantic get-away. I want my first time to be there, with someone special, my husband probably. But that once “dream paradise” became my most “feared” island to visit. Because of unexpected circumstances that brought me so much pain and heartaches. But I want to conquer my fear. I want to face it. And that’s why I’ve decided to spent my first time in Boracay with a company of good friends.
It was a long-planned trip. I kept on waiting for plane promo fares to minimize expenses. But to no avail.( I will be posting my detailed expenses on this trip in my second article, so keep posted.) Anyways, in order to reach this island, we sailed on a boat from Cagayan de Oro to Cebu City. It was an overnight cruise that sails from 10pm then arrives in Cebu City at 6am. Then a plane ride from Mactan International Airport to Caticlan, Boracay Airport. Boracay airport is still under construction but can already cater passengers.
We then headed to the terminal for trike and paid for it and for the environmental fee. We are then bound to the Caticlan Jetty Port where we paid for our fastcraft that transport us to Cugban Port. From Cugban Port we took the trike that leads us to our hotel.
That was a long ride, yes! And just keep on reading why it is still worth it. Here are the detailed fare expenses on the way:
Caticlan Airport to Jetty Port (trike) P50/trike/good for 3 persons P25.00
Cugban Port – Hotel (trike) P100.00/trike/good for 3 persons P50.00
The weather was not so cooperative, it was gloomy and most of the time rainy but that doesn’t stop us in exploring and enjoying. But good thing, we are given 1 day to enjoy a sunny day in Boracay. (I will be posting more about it in the next article.)
