It was rainy skies in Aklan when we arrived last June 7, 2011. Though the journey going there was smooth and interesting, we are hoping for a more sunny days in Boracay Island to be able to witness the magnificent sunset view along the seashore. We slickly dropped-off and dropped-in from boat, plane and trike to reach to our destination. At 12noon, so hungry and tired, we finally arrived in the Executive wing of La Carmela de Boracay for our accommodation. I will write my review about this hotel soon, meanwhile I have posted my itinerary going to Boracay in here.

Grotto at Station 1

First day schedule was more on strolling. Walking along the beach and we intended to take pictures from interesting spots from Station 1 to Station 3. But with 7km wide island, whew! that was a good way to release some bad sweat. It is important to note that to have a one interesting travel is to have a good companion. Someone who at least understands in your wants and share the same interest as you have so that you won’t be left hanging and doing all the planning.

Paraw Boats along Station 2

On the 2nd day, it was set aside for all the water sports activities that we’ve planned to try. But the sun doesn’t shine on that day that’s why we just left Paraw Sunset Watching on the 3rd day, hoping for a beautiful sunset. I had fun with Island hopping, snorkeling and parasailing. I will be writing about these activities soon. I must recommend that it is a must try to do parasailing.

Parasailing

We are still blessed to be given a beautiful sun shine in the morning till noon time on our 3rd day. I didn’t waste my time and headed to try helmet diving and right after I didn’t missed the opportunity to try the famous Jonah’s Shake. The taste was heavenly that can truly wash away your thirsty throat. Jonah’s Station 1 branch was well situated since it is just across Grotto.
Right after taking our meal we then took a walk in the shore of Station 1. The sand in station 1 is incomparable. It is indeed powdery white! I couldn’t think of any beaches I’ve been that is equally fine.  We spent the whole afternoon lurking in the beach at the far end. I enjoyed the green-blueish water with magnificent natural view around.

Night life in Boracay has a lot to offer. It already depends upon you what suits to your taste. From rock band, bar hopping and reggae are all presented. We opted to stay in Regency Boracay for a rock band over a bottle of beer and was an onlooker for the fire dancers. Fire dancers in Regency Boracay are there to perform every night. But I love the songs being played in Mandarin Hotel that’s why we spent our night here on the 2nd night though it is only open untill midnight.

My first time in Boracay doesn’t meet with what was expected but it was still a dream that came true. With a super “mahal” na fare, my gosh!hehe..But at least, I’ve found a reason to be back and I now understand why people loves to go back in this island every now and then. This is not the end of my Boracay trip. Keep posted!
